Ballgown -  The classic cinderella dress with a fitted bodice.
Column - Straight lined from the waist downwards.
Mermaid - The skirt flared out below the knee.
Fishtail - Think, coloumn wiht a twist:  an extra panel of fabric fans out at the back of the skirt.
Empire Line - A gown with the waistline pulled up right under the bust.
Sheath - The latest style, sexy silhouette with no waistline:  the skirt falls straight to the floor.
A-Line - A gown with a skirt that flared out like the legs of an "A" with vertical seams running from shoulders to hem.

Different body shapes - designs that may suit.

You are tall?  (1.90 in bare feet)

-You can wear almost anything.  Avoid frilly little dresses.
You are short (1.4 in platform shoes)

-Try A-line dress or a fitted sheath - The vertical lines will elongate your silhouette.  A ballgown with a full skirt is a bit of a challenge:  it can give the impression it's wearing you, rather then the other way around.  (You get lost in the dress!)
You are thin as a rake!

-Opt for a ballgown rather than a sheath.  Play with layers but dont overdo it - you risk looking lost in the dress.
  You are curvy?!

-Dont try to hide your curves under a loose gown.  Come to terms with your curves - they're sexy~  An A-line dress with a V-neck bodice is sure to look stunning.

  Large bottom (behind)?

-Minimise it in a gown with un undefining waistline and a flowing skirt, flared at the bottom.  A mermaid shape would do the trick.
Most fitted a-line gowns will hide lare hips/behinds!

Large Bustline?

-A v-neck dress would be ideal, but dont show too much cleavage or no-one will look you in the eyes.  Make sure you can fit a good supportive bra underneath.
